We all know that not every baking method begins with creaming butter and sugar together, it doesn’t hold a monopoly of how texture is created in cakes or even how we make biscuits and doughs. While the well-known “creaming” method is an excellent way to incorporate air bubbles into a sponge for example (in turn being a huge factor in creating that lovely light texture) there are other methods which work just as well but also create completely different results, the first we will explore is by using melted butter.
